A pure botanical species. It is a selected variant of a wild species, featuring bright light green (lime-green) leaves that are quite thin and flexible. It produces long spikes that tend to arch or hang naturally. The 'Iron Purple' clone is characterized by fascinating color instability: large lilac or purple blotches appear against a white background. Each flower is unique; some may be entirely purple while others are partially white, depending on temperature and light conditions. This is also a sequential-blooming orchid.
For sequential-blooming orchids, it is not recommended to cut the spike unless it dries out, as the spike continues to grow and produce new flowers.
